Prime Rib

Okay, so my dad, being the internet idiot that he is, asked me to come up with some slow cooker recipes for prime rib. He'd like a few different ones, so if you lovely people could spam me with recipes for prime rib, from the traditional to the slightly more creative, we'd be eternally grateful. Thanks in advance.

I would really, really not recommend cooking prime rib in a slow cooker. Cuts like that need to be dry roasted in the oven. It will come out tough and dry in the slow cooker, which cooks with moist heat. The slow cooker is best for cuts like short ribs, chuck, or stewing meat -- lots of connective tissue which melts with long moist cooking.

That would explain why my Google skills have failed me thus far. I was beginning to come to the conclusion thatA) either nobody had tried it, or B) someone had tried it but it sucked. Haha. Thanks, I'll pass on the info.

i agree wholeheartedly with grace om. And to be honest, even if it was doable it would be a waste of a such a great cut!

I'd suggest the oven very highly for prime rib. I use this recipe: http://www.melindalee.com/recipearchive.html?action=124&item_id=93

The 500 degree method Melinda recommends has never let me down.

This one has come out pretty decently as well, and the page has a good recipe for horseradish sauce!: http://www.lawrysonline.com/theprimerib_chicago_recipes.asp
